FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION?

During the sessions, first of all, parents bring the difficulties they are going through and receive personalized guidance. Then, I bring up educational themes in relation to the difficulties that parents go through. My questions give parents perspective so that they can reflect on implications, and position themselves on their educational choices. At the end of each session, parents receive concrete tools to implement home. The following week, we evaluate the changes and what remains to be changed.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?

It depends on many criteria and also on the parents' goals, but in general, changes appear quickly following the first sessions. Within 3 months we can integrate and stabilize new habits. Most parental coaching programs last between 3 and 10 sessions.

SHOULD PARENTS ABSOLUTELY CONSULT TOGETHER?

It is advised but not at all essential. During the sessions, parents receive tools of non-violent communication so that they can create healthy and stable relationships with all the family members.

DO CHILDREN ATTEND SESSIONS?

Parent coaching sessions are for parents only. It is a space for reflection, for sharing where one must feel entirely free to talk about one's feelings, whatever they may be. The changes that the parents put in place subsequently lead to irremediable changes in the behavior of the children.

WHY JOINING A PARENTS GROUP?

The parents group provide a place where you can share your daily difficulties with other parents without being judged. You can discover many other ways of parenting and receive new tools from other parents as well as from the parental coach.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PARENT COACHING AND FAMILY THERAPY?

Parental coaching is for parents only. It aims to equip parents to manage daily challenges with resilience and efficiency based on a recognized method. Based on a personalized approach inspired by positive parenting, the coach's approach allows you to review your parenting strategies, which often do not work as you wish, and to fully understand and use your leadership as a parent.

Family therapy is for all family members. Its goal is to provide a different reading of the problem and to restore the family's ability to function. It therefore implies treatment of the family and participation of all its members.

The parental coaching sessions have done us the greatest good for my husband and myself. We managed to agree on the education of our 3 children. What we learned with Delphine  turned out to be very effective and our daily life has improved.

I arrived at Delphine just after my divorce. I was fragile and I didn't know how to answer my children's questions. Delphine supported me in this very difficult period. The communication tools she gave me are invaluable and I intend to continue using them. A big thank-you.
